Sport Court - 40 Year Anniversary

1974. Nixon reigns, Hank Aaron obliterates the most sacred of baseball records, and Cher divorces Sonny. Tumultuous times, indeed. We were busy ourselves in our little corner of the world, changing the way the families played together in their very own backyards. That was no small feat unto itself. Now here we are forty years later, offering indoor and outdoor surfacing for all sports!

Throwback to the Turley Family's 20 Year Old Sport Court Game Court!

Meet the Turley Family! Nineteen years ago, they purchased a backyard court which they still own today!

Having five children and being a very sports minded family, they wanted to find a really good quality court that would last for a years to come. After meeting with Sport Court owner, Dale Hendrickson, who explained the whole process and designed the perfect set up for their family. 

Looking back, Doug Turley remarks on the memories as a father with his kids and enjoying different sports on the court. His son, Connor reflects that having the court as a kid really helped his development as an athlete as well as bonding with his four other siblings. One of his fondest memories was waking up Christmas morning and running out side to see their brand new Sport Court. "It's definitely helped me in my career, but also it's just been great for the whole family!"

Doug goes on to comment that despite the courts age, "it still has the same resiliency and its still what it was almost nineteen years ago...it's amazing!"

"We found that Sport Court was really what we wanted and its turned out to be exactly what we wanted it to be!'

Travis Mathew Golf Sport Court Basketball

Travis Mathew Apparel takes their games as serious as their jobs- As seen in their new basketball Sport Court addition to their Huntington Beach headquarters.

“They originally wanted a wood floor, but after looking into other options they decided on our Maple select surfacing because it was the best value and delivered the performance and appearance that they were looking for.” Kurt Scholey, Sport Court Account Manager

The court is 48x75feet of maple select body with black keys and borders. They also have two pro- slam systems 48x72. The project took one week to complete before the “TM guys” were playing on the court.

“I’m really proud of this project because it not only was my first maple select project, but it came out better than I could have ever imagined. Ultimately my goal is to always have a happy client—I really felt like the TM team and I were on the same page the whole time,”said Scholey.

Travis Mathew is known for offering the newest and most core southern California apparel. Their brand melds the Southern California surf lifestyle with hip L.A. and Hollywood culture, according to Southland Golf Magazine.(*p50) They are an up and coming powerhouse in the golf apparel industry.

“The entire staff is very polite and friendly I don’t know if I’ve ever worked with a more fun group than them!” said Scholey.

World Record on TM Sport Court Basketball Court

Sport Court's most recent project in Kabul, Afghanistan

Last summer, Sport Court won a project to install 30 multipurpose courts in Kabul, Afghanistan through an American non-governmental organization. In order to expedite the installation process, the courts were laid out and pre-painted in a local warehouse. They were then dismantled, shipped from the Salt Lake City factory to Karachi, Pakistan and finally driven to their destination in Kabul.

During a whirlwind five days in Kabul, the Sport Court team was able to train the local installation team and complete a full court at the Taimaskan Boys’ Orphanage and begin laying tiles at courts at the Kabul Boy’s school and Kabul Olympic sports complex.

The boys at the Taimaskan Boys’ Orphanage will have a safe and fun Sport Court courts to play and exercise on for years to come! Shortly after installation, the boys were eager to try out their new courts.

After only five days working side-by-side with our Sport Court team, the local Afghan installation team was completely self-sufficient. In the next months, they will continue to install the remaining 27 courts at boys’ and girls’ schools and orphanages in 6 different provinces throughout the country.

Sport Court is grateful for the chance to impact young lives in Afghanistan and provide them with a safe and attractive courts to play on. Our teams’ hard work and the hard work of our counterparts in Kabul will be enjoyed by the children for year’s to come, and Sport Court is very proud of the legacy it is fostering in Kabul.

LA Galaxy Court set to be built at the Carson Boys & Girls Club

The L.A. Galaxy and AEG, in partnership with Major League Soccer’s community outreach program, MLS W.O.R.K.S., will donate a multi-use Sport Court outdoor gymnasium to create year-long sports program at the Carson Boys & Girls Club.

Sport Court Surfaces on Oil Rig Platforms

Sport Court Power Game™ surface was recently installed on the Petronas oil rig off the east Malaysian coast in the South China Sea. 

The local Sport Court® installation technician was flown for one hour by helicopter from the northeastern Malaysian city of Kota Bahru Kelantan to the rig to complete the project.

"These photos demonstrate the versatility and durability of the Power Game system. Drill rig employees need exercise and recreation!"said Ryan Burke, Sport Court® International Business Manager.

This unique project was made possible by our partners in Malaysia, Sports Tech Pro, Ltd.

Sport Court and Lunchables at the Boys and Girls Club of Burbank

  

Sport Court and Lunchables teamed up to remodle a Boys and Girls Club in Burbank California. The center recieved a full size PowerGame multi-use court.

Tennis on the USS Midway - San Diego, CA

Aboard the deck of the USS Midway on Monday July 16, 2012, two women labeled as “The future of American Tennis” gave a demonstration, prior to the Mercury Insurance Open tennis tournament at La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego.

19-year-old Sloane Stephens and 20-year-old Christina McHale played a fun tennis match with a few sailors on a half-sized tennis court. They were playing on Sport Court’s PowerGame surface.

  “It's nice to do with Sloane. It's fun to do something different that we don't do every day.” Said McHale.

PowerGame is the #1 and official modular tile of the USTA. The court was unique as it was part of The CenterCourt program for 10 and Under Tennis. PowerGame tiles are the safest and highest-performing tennis surface and feature Lateral Forgiveness ™ and impact protection.

Madonna Inn Pink Tennis Courts

 Sport Court of Southern California provided more than 14,000 square feet of custom, bright “Madonna” pink and neon blue acrylic tennis surfacing for the Madonna Inn Resort and Spa.

“The tennis courts at The Madonna Inn have been a long time in the making. About 40 years ago, Mr. Madonna promised to build tennis courts as a gift to Mrs. Madonna. We've made good on that old promise and just finished a regulation and junior tennis court along with basketball court. To keep it unique for our guests and to stay consistent with our theme, we colored the courts pink! Sport Court had never made a pink court but were up to the challenge and did a wonderful job. Their professionalism and quality workmanship exceeded our expectations and left us very satisfied.” said Clint Pearce, President of Madonna Enterprises.

The Madonna Inn Resort and Spa announced its tennis facilities will offer a regulation tennis court as well as a full basketball court and, QuickStart®, or 10 and Under Tennis court.

The Madonna family requested a custom pigment that had to be matched perfectly.

“We are honored that Sport Court® was chosen to build the vibrant tennis and basketball courts at the Madonna Inn. This project provided a unique challenge in matching the Madonna Inn "pink" known around the world,” said Scott Cleere, project administrator and San Luis Obispo resident.

The Madonna Inn is widely identified for its combination of thematic rooms, eccentric furniture and imaginative atmosphere. The newest addition to the facilities is nothing short of “over the top”.

“Thanks to the "out of the box" thinking of the management team at the Madonna Inn San Luis Obispo is now the home of the only permanent pink tennis and basketball facility in the country and perhaps the world,” said Cleere.
